We are
excited to announce an exciting new natural
treatment alternative for treating Canine
Osteoarthritis at Michigan's first, finest, and
most comprehensive canine physical rehabilitation
center!
As you are probably aware, physical rehabilitation
is a vital part of the recovery process for many
orthopedic disorders. We are equipped to manage a
variety of illnesses, including fractures, spinal
disorders, post-cruciate or FHO therapy, as well as
arthritis therapy and weight loss management.
The staff at the Animal Rehabilitation Center of
Michigan consists of licensed veterinary
technicians and veterinarians that are dedicated to
the health and well-being of your companion canine.
All staff members receive specialized training in
physical rehabilitation.
In addition to being equipped with state of the art
equipment, including an underwater treadmill,
electrical stimulation, massage, cavaletti rails,
therapy balls and agility equipment, we now offer
Hydrotherapy as a natural treatment alternative
with Canine Osteoarthritis. Click the Hydrotherapy
link above to understand how you can help your dog
live a higher quality life with greater comfort.
Of course we still utilize our many top notch
treatment tools and skills, such as therapeutic
ultrasound and e-stim for pain relief from muscle
spasm, post-surgical discomfort, disc disease,
arthritis, and many other medical conditions. We
often utilize ice as part of our treatment
protocols to reduce pain and inflammation in sore
joints. Stretching also helps to maintain muscle
elasticity and joint flexibility. Each pet's
protocol is developed based on age, lifestyle,
severity of disease and many other factors. We can
also develop a home care program for those pets
with less severe symptoms of osteoarthritis.
No matter which alternative you chose, we encourage
exercise in a controlled, low-impact form to
decrease discomfort for your dog and increase his
enjoyment of the rehabilitation process. Depending
on your dog's condition, therapy should performed
two to three weekly. We have achieved the best
results when we perform rehab several times over
the course of each therapy day. This increases and
maintains the metabolic rate, which means that the
benefits of the exercise will be maintained for a
longer period of time.
We invite you to come visit our new facility and

Rehabilitation Center of Michigan is conveniently
