Dr. Charles Plein

Dr. Plein graduated from Michigan State University in 1974 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He also gained practical experience through the senior internship program at MSU, by spending time in Massachusetts with the ASPCA (society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) at Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital, and practicing emergency medicine at the Veterinary Emergency Service.

In 1985, he became the co-owner of Union Lake Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Plein is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Plein's special veterinary interests include cardiac and abdominal ultrasound, internal medicine, and animal behavior and training. Outside of the practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy and children Sarah and Matthew.
